The sheer complexity and resolution of this image make it almost impossible to properly appreciate online, but it does create some incredibly interesting crops. There’s an absurd amount of detail hidden throughout this scene, and countless hours of work behind it.
I absolutely love the constellation Vela, home to the enormous Gum Nebula and the stunning blue-green Vela Supernova Remnant. I also managed to squeeze in the Carina Nebula, the brightest emission nebula in the night sky.
